My passion in education has always been about exploring how we can improve what we are doing. I have over 30 years of experience in program & project evaluation that seeks to advance educational outcomes for students in early learning, K-12 and post-secondary venues. The majority of my research has centered around educators’ impact and influence on student learning especially students identified for special education as well as gifted and talented services. My current responsibilities include overseeing the Willamette Education Service District's Center for Education Innovation, Evaluation and Research which focuses on using data to enhance key elements of the P-20 education system. The Center's goal is summed up by our motto "Innovating practice. Evaluating impact. Demonstrating success."Over the last 30 years, I have helped to secure $29.3 million in national and state grants funding numerous regional, state and local education-focused projects. I have one co-edited book, co-written six book chapters, a peer-reviewed article, numerous national and state presentations.
