As part of our Current Planning team in the Community and Economic Development Department, I review and manage a wide variety of land use cases and work on special projects as necessary. Much of my job is communicating with residents to create a better understanding of how planning and zoning affects their communities.

I manage the grant process for Blueprint’s COVID Hunger Relief Fund, working with statewide partners to provide assistance and better understand how hunger is being impacted by this pandemic. Additionally, I lead our statewide workgroup on implementing solutions for community food access.

I prepared policy recommendations on various land use issues (everything from CAFOs to tiny homes) for local governments nationwide, conducted research on best practices and compiled findings into memos. I also worked as part of a team to rewrite and reorganize land use codes in order to make them more effective.

I assisted a team of researchers in measuring welcomeness to immigrants within the Denver area by reviewing literature and relevant policies, collecting data, and developing measures by which we measured welcomeness.

I assisted the Community Development team in daily operations. I've gained experience writing memos for administrative modifications and variances, presented to the Planning Commission, conducted research for the city/county's upcoming code changes, and helped residents with their questions as Planner on Call.

Louisville, Colorado

Each week I planned programming for over 100 middle schoolers, connected middle school students to adult mentors, and managed communications with parents. I managed a team in raising $20,000 for the ministry through 2 fundraising events. Additionally, I served on the church’s Planning Committee, helping to manage city government relations and analyzing options as we plan a new building project beginning Fall 2018.

Chattanooga, Tennessee Area

I organized and managed over 100 agency partners to strategically meet the needs of food insecure individuals across nine counties. I developed new agency partners, coordinated internal programs (some located in non-English speaking communities), managed agency communications, monitored agency compliance with Feeding America standards, contributed to grant writing and reporting, and managed county-level data regarding food distribution.

Prepared documents for accounting purposes; created surveys and reports using Typeform, Kindful, and Submittable; assisted in preparation of the Form 990 audit; wrote blog posts; managed customer relationship and project management databases using Kindful and Insightly.

Highland Park, Chattanooga, Tn

I coached a soccer team of 9-14 year old girls, communicated weekly with parents, developed and led weekly life and health lessons. We used soccer as a means to overcome barriers and build meaningful relationships within our teams.

Assisted a professor with research, which entailed conducting literature searches and coding and analyzing data with SPSS software.
