I am a mechanical engineering PhD student in the Soft Materials and Structures lab at Virginia Tech. My current research focus is the change in mechanical and material properties of liquid metal-polymer composites during aging in saltwater environments. Liquid metal-polymer composites are flexible, but have exceptional thermal conductivity and can be made electrically conductive. These properties make these composites exciting candidates for use in compliant electronics and soft robotics for undersea use. Other experiences include an internship on the Coleman Tests and Shelters Team and terms as an officer for both Appalachia Service Project and Gamma Delta Sigma.
