I am currently a student at Griffith University studying a Bachelor of Business degree and planning to major in finance to me to gain knowledge and understanding of the financial sector. Upon completing my degree, I plan to become a financial planner or paraplanner to help others with my financial advice reach their long-term goals.Whilst studying I have a part-time job at Coles as a service assistant, allowing me to help customers with their everyday needs within the supermarket and gain customer service skills, communication skills and teamwork skills that I can continue to develop for my future career.My current achievements include my Community Service award from 2018, where I was able to volunteer around the school and community through beach cleanups and assisting teachers with tasks.

  Within my job I assist customers in finding their products, build trust and positive relationships with customers and help them through the checkouts.Within my job the ability to communicate effectively with customers is essential in order to calm them down, reason with them, or to simply converse and enhance their experience at Coles. Throughout my employment at Coles I have had numerous experiences in effectively communicating with customers to ensure all parties involved are satisfied with the outcome of a decision. An example of this was a customer annoyed that an item on special was out of stock, to improve their experience I offered them a raincheck, which allows the customer to purchase the product at the same price the next time it is in stock. Following this interaction, the customer was no longer annoyed and was appreciative for the customer service they received.
