About Elle Shelley Black

Hi, I'm Elle, a 4x founder, product designer, coffee lover and EndoWarrior. I am currently building Made, a Product Manufacturing OS for growing eCommerce brands. In 2023, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis after having a 5lb cyst plus my right ovary and fallopian tube removed during an emergency surgery. This led me to create Same Skincare, a line of hormone-friendly skincare for the 1 in 3 women who, like me, suffer from a chronic hormonal condition. Same Skincare proudly partners with EndoFound to help fund endo research. Things my mom wants you to know: I started my career helping some of the world’s largest brands, like GE, Allianz, and even the US Marine Corps., develop products with their most valuable resource: their customers. My work has been featured in Forbes, NYTimes, Entrepreneur, Business Insider, Mashable, Tech Crunch, Fast Company, the US Department of Energy, Business Insider and Business News Daily. And I have spread some of my ideas from the stages at SXSW, The World Economic Forum, and IBM Disrupt. During the pandemic, I wrote a book called Promiscuous Innovation: How Idea Development Works and it was a best seller on Amazon ... for a few days. Today, Launch Forth helps bring technology-forward innovations like drones, self-driving vehicles, and 3D-printed wheelchairs to market at unprecedented speeds by levering co-creation, which enables brands and their customers to work together to create better products and services, and is underpinned by the world’s largest community of solvers who together are tackling some of the world’s most formidable challenges and solving nearly unsolvable problems. Prior to taking on the role as EVP of Launch Forth, Elle was the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for Local Motors. In that role, she was responsible for market development, product management and vision and the commercialization of the company’s vehicle portfolio.
