I have the best job at Mount Aloysius College! Kristy Magee, the college career development director, and I bang the drum for everyone to begin or update their resumes. But only a fraction take advantage of our services. The students who do come to see me about writing resumes and cover letters recognize how important these documents are to their careers. They are often highly motivated achievers.I ask them about their ultimate career plans and we develop their resumes according to their unique experiences, skills and education. They may come in feeling frazzled or anxious but they leave with smiles on their faces. I basically repackage what they give me, focussing on how they can best market themselves for the positions they seek. My conversations with these students give me great pleasure. Kristy and I join in celebrating these students' successes, especially when they tell us, "I got the internship!" or "I got the job!"
