I grew up watching the ships navigate Port of Providence from my backyard in Cranston, RI, and sailing on Narragansett Bay. For several years I lived on the coast of the Bass Strait in Australia and was inspired by that nation’s commitment to ocean stewardship. I am deeply concerned about the global impact, especially on the most vulnerable populations, of pollution, overfishing, and especially climate change on our ocean’s health. My interest in learning more about the concept of a circular economy and solution-based initiatives for good stewardship of our planet is always front and center as I volunteer my time. Currently, I am on the Board of Boston Birding Festival, a team member at Many Helping Hands 365 MLK & Earth Day planning in Cambridge, MA and I raise brand awareness for Troublemakers.org, a company promoting equity for women and girls. As a past Board Director of Women Working for Ocean (W2O) I helped shape that organization's mission of educating communities about ocean health and established the annual W2O Ocean Spirit Award in honor of women leading grassroots efforts to protect our ocean. I formally lead a W2O advocacy team, in partnership with the New England Aquarium, taking action on state and federal ocean policy issues with frequent trips to DC to meet with congressional leaders. Past positions include 12 years in the entertainment industry and 3 frantic (start to finish) whirlwind months on the marketing/communications/logistics team for the 2017 Boston Women's March.
