I have been involved in small business my entire working life. As a child, I worked in our family bakeries. When I was tall enough to see over the counter, I started selling cookies and cake to customers. Upon graduating from college with a degree in Speech Pathology and shortly after, a master's degree as well, I worked in the field until my need to be involved in food overwhelmed me. During these years as a therapist, I was able to develop an ability to listen, evaluate and instruct. After starting a family, I helped create a business where none existed before. Together with my sister-in-law, we created a sculpted fruit bouquet that looked like flowers, the rest is history. The company grew into a franchised concept and went on to include 37 units, coast to coast. I have recently moved away from this brand and I am now fortunate to be the Director of Franchise Development for Franchise Advise, a firm offering full service franchise consulting and development to our clients. Specialties: Nurturing new businesses, new product development, creative approaches to growing a business and involvement in the community, marketing products and services, client relations management, business development.
