With over 15 years of experience in arts, culture, and heritage, I am a passionate and innovative leader who brings culture and its benefits to people and places. As the Head of Creative Programmes and Campaigns at Historic England, I oversee participatory and creative initiatives that inspire and empower communities to care for their history and heritage, and to rediscover pride in place. My work is high-profile and strategic, leading change around the organisation's public engagement approach. I direct The High Street cultural programme, which supports a £95m regeneration scheme and is the widest-reaching, community-led arts and heritage programme in the public realm. It provides £7.4 million of funding to local cultural activities, as well as national commissions that showcase the diversity and vibrancy of high streets. I also work on major campaigns that raise awareness of and participation in heritage, such as Picturing Lockdown, which created a photographic archive of life during the pandemic. I am motivated by delivering positive solutions-based change, creative adaptation to ever-changing circumstances, and empowering teams to take risks to broaden audiences.
