I have worked with children and adolescents in school settings, as well as with their teachers, administration, and parents for 24 years. I've worked with particular cultures and have tried to help students preserve what is favorable about their cultures, and to become enlightened to what holds them back, academically, socially, and culturally. I try to work with educators to help them understand how cultural differences interfere in the academic process. I have been doing therapy in clinical settings since the mid-90's. I've worked with all age groups with mood and personality disorders. In both settings I have handled various crises. As a 12 Step member for 20 years (Al-anon) for 20, I have been, in my clinical work, treating codependence and more recently have begun to do inner child and trauma work. I also have a deep understanding of addictions, though I am not as yet certified in the addiction field.
