I am very passionate about my career. I love teaching Computer Science!!! More importantly I love providing a safe space for children and teens to be. Learning, trying things, learning how to be a kind person, and knowing I am here for whatever challenges today brings are my goals!I coordinate a robotics club, which currently includes 3 teams. I have student leaders who have risen to become role models who lead the students to try, to imagine, to design, to build, and to compete with a high level of great sportsmanship. I love to see this process of student leadership and guiding of other students.I oversee our school website and social media platforms to keep all stakeholders informed (in English and Spanish) and connected to our 1st priority, our amazing students!!!! I also work on the green committee. This committee has just regrouped after our covid break and we have several goals in our plans. we are partnering with Garrett Park to start a community garden. we have submitted a grant for this garden. Our robotics club has collected and recycled just over 100 pounds of aluminum cans this year. This Spring I worked with a team of Staff members to develop a morning news broadcast featuring student anchors, writers, camera people and reporters. I will be developing curriculum this Summer to incorporate into our CS program fir all aspects of Medias used in broadcasting, reporting, and video.
