POSITION SUMMARYWorks independently under supervision of owners to coordinate social media, traditional media, and promotions for all businesses, including 49th State Brewing Co (Anchorsge and Denali), Denali Park Salmon Bake, Prospectors Historic Pizzeria & Alehouse, Denali Crow’s Nest Cabins, and The Overlook at the Crow’s Nest.This position entails management of all promotions, social media, print and digital media production and distribution, public and media relations (communications), and NHG event management..1. Promotions: Evaluates, chooses, and executes advertisements for print, social, and digital media, maintains a budget for advertising, and addresses requests for donation for advertising and/or good will exchanges. 2. Social Media: Ensures execution of social media site maintenance and content creation. 3. Print and Digital Media Production: Works with designers and/or creates original print content, curates/archives photos for media use, updates website content, writes copy and coordinates video/radio media production, and oversees distribution of print material.4. Public and Media Relations (Communications): First point of contact for inquiries from media, creates press releases, maintains media contact list, reaches out for earned media opportunities, and connects with industry leaders about products and services.5. NHG Event Management: Provides on-site support for large events (particularly those that affect the company as a whole), plans and sees to execution of large scale events, oversees the work of the Entertainment Director. Note: generally exempt from duties/management of Events Booking and Production Team.Other duties consist of coordination with purveyors and distributors for co-branded events and sponsorships, travel to events as spokesperson and/or networking, and maintenance of the Denali Life App.

With UNITE HERE local 1 I organized workers to better protect their civil rights. I was a media spokesperson for the union for television, radio, and print media. I served on the team negotiating a contract for over 10,000 workers. I organized grievances amongst workers being ill-treated. In conjunction with other unions that formed the group Change to Win, I was a Lead for the group's effort to elect President Barack Obama in 2008. I worked primarily in Wisconsin in the greater Milwaukee area. Debriefing and training volunteers and organizing the largest Get Out The Vote (GOTV) in the history of Wisconsin.
