I am currently studying for a PhD at the University of Bristol, funded by the South West branch (SWDTP) of the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). I am also teaching on an undergraduate module in Issues in World Politics for a third year, after already having the opportunity to assist the teaching of a Masters unit in Theoretical Approaches to Security. I have recently completed a placement at the Peace Pledge Union, a pacifist campaigning organisation which works on peacebuilding and nonviolence, remembering all victims of war through a commitment to peace and rejection of war, and challenging everyday militarism, military spending and recruitment. My research is situated within critical military studies and feminist international relations. With the aim of interrogating and destabilising military power, my current work is exploring the relationships between the public and the production of war and violence. I am particularly interested in how publics in liberal societies diversely perform war and violence, including through support, disengagement and resistance.
