My social skills programs for ages 8+ are now parent-funded and custom designed.• Provide academic tutoring for students in special ed who want access to grade-level Common Core standards with the right balance of challenge and support. • Teach ongoing, inclusive mindfulness meditation events for beginning and advanced students. • Design custom mindfulness meditation programs for students with ASD, ADHD, ED and/or social-emotional challenges to increase attention span duration, self-regulation and overall well-being. • Conduct professional development trainings for teachers who want to integrate mindfulness as a behavior intervention strategy.Ellen McCarty completed her Vipassana meditation training with Buddhist masters in Southeast Asia between 1998-2000 and has 25+ years of mindfulness meditation practice as well as 10+ years of experience teaching mindfulness to students and families with special needs. In 2015 launched the iOS app "Mindful Youth" for families with special needs. Special thanks to app developer Andis Blukis and his team at Rhyme & Reason as well as the Entrepreneurs' Law Clinic at Santa Clara University for making this resource possible.
