Working across a number of sites and businesses, I liaise and report to HSE Advisors, Operations & State Managers, Shift Managers and the HR and Training Coordinator, to manage health with the 'big picture' in mind. I possess a sound understanding of Workers Compensation Legislation requirements, specifically in Victoria, but with some experience in Tasmania. I have undertaken training in The Role of a Return to Work Coordinator in Victoria, and completed the Advanced Return to Work Management Certificate. Currently I am undertaking a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, and regularly attend professional development courses and seminars.I am skilled at managing the complexities of RTW within a challenging business environment; specifically dealing with operational requirements, a complex allocation system, a high risk industry and a unionised workforce. I hold excellent communication, case management and coordination skills; engaging with employees and 3rd parties (including insurance companies, legal representatives and rehab providers) to ensure optimum RTW outcomes. I am highly competent in managing physical and psychological claims, non compliance and performance mangement, identification of suitable duties, development of sustainable RTW plans, tail end claims, case conferences, conciliation conferences, common law proceedings, PIAWE calculation, W/Comp payroll, and Impairment Benefit claims. I am focused on early intervention and continuous process improvement. Additionally, I manage RTW for employees who have sustained personal injuries and facilitate medical reviews, including medical retirement when necessary. This is a key part of my role which requires well developed letter writing skills, and a thorough understanding of HR Policy and Procedures.
