In summer of 2022, I began developing Turnip Green Creative Reuse's community programming. I developed, marketed, and taught a number of art education opportunities for local adults and children. In addition, I began creating a corporate engagement strategy to create opportunities for local businesses to engage with art and sustainability projects. This position required me to make ongoing assessments regarding the quantifiable success of various programs and adjust our programming schedule to meet the needs of our community. This, as well as ongoing grant requests, ensures the financial sustainability of our community engagement.

When Turnip Green Creative Reuse (TGCR) partnered with Southwest Airlines as part of their Repurpose with Purpose program, I was placed in charge of managing the pilot year. Through this program, TGCR salvaged material from over 10,000 airline seats to be used in creative endeavors. These endeavors included education kits for over 11,000 local students, products made by local artists, and art education opportunities for the community. I managed 30 employees, oversaw production, managed grant funds, and recruited artists. After a successful pilot year, my letter of inquiry was granted to continue the program.

In this position I developed and implemented fine art programming in an after school setting for K-12 students. I developed relationships with diverse students and families in two rural Indiana communities to facilitate a sense of purpose and belonging through art creation. I collaborated with colleagues across the county to create engaging opportunities, including the curation of a large art exhibition / fundraiser.
