I’m a linguist and qualitative researcher, with extensive fieldwork, participatory research, and community engagement experience. My research focuses on documenting and analysing the grammars of lesser-known or endangered languages; understanding how languages evolve through interaction; and exploring the role of ideologies and policies in language preservation in multilingual indigenous or migrant communities.With extensive fieldwork and community engagement experience spanning urban home and school settings in the U.K. and Italy, and an extremely remote community setting in Papua New Guinea, I am deeply committed to leveraging language-based research projects to promote social justice and community empowerment. My collaborative efforts have included working closely with endangered language communities to develop language revitalisation materials, and consulting with community language schools and local government stakeholders to enhance language education initiatives, particularly in Coventry (U.K.).My engagement work also includes disseminating my research in the media and at public events, and contributing to institutional Widening Participation and Schools Outreach strategy and events. Drawing on my university teaching and English as a Foreign Language teaching background, I also facilitate Professional Development linguistics workshops for school teachers.
