CurrentEmergency Management Director: coordinating the planning, response, recovery and mitigation efforts for St. Clair County. Managed FEMA, ALEA and ADPH and other grants. Completed 24 1/2 years with St. Clair County EMA, 19 of county program management of the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP). Worked with the county's Law Enforcement, Fire Departments and medical partners to identify and justify needed equipment, training and procedures to ready St. Clair County in case of a chemical accident while the aging chemical weapons at Anniston Army Depot were safely destroyed. With no audit findings, oversaw the grant request, justification, award, procurement to include bidding process of equipment/systems, and the closeout process of the over $15 million CSEPP funding for St. Clair County. This funding greatly enhanced the capabilities and state of readiness of our emergency responder community. I've worked many disasters and smaller incidents, but the largest by far were the three tornados that hit St. Clair County on April 27, 2011, taking the lives of 15 of our citizens. Clearly the saddest disaster and the most challenging to respond and recover from. Encouraging our residents and businesses to become better prepared for all emergencies, all hazards. Helping our people in any way that I can. Have loved my job and look forward to retirement Jan 1, 2018.
