The Coalition for Sustainable Roofing (COSUR) represents companies who manufacture a variety of building products. COSUR offers unique insights on holistic roof system design and sustainable roof assemblies from the vantage point of members who manufacture cool roofs, dark roofs, gray roofs, white roofs and everything inbetween. COSUR works closely with roofing architects, roof consultants, roofing contractors, and policy makers to emphasize holistic approaches to roofing solutions, promoting resilience, energy efficiency, and urban heat island mitigation.

◆ SCOPE: Provide strategic leadership, operational management, and fiscal direction over the EPDM Roofing Association, a 20+ year trade association representing the manufacturers of EPDM single-ply roofing products and their leading suppliers. ◆ IMPACT: Direct and manage federal, state, and local advocacy programs to include federal regulatory affairs, state and municipal governments, regulatory affairs, and grass roots efforts.Ensure integration of all programs and initiatives of the organization, making sure that all staff and communications are consistent with established key messages and identified priorities.Collaborate with chief staff executives and elected officials to explore consensus positions to industry challenges and resolutions or alternative solutions to the proposed legislation, regulation, or building code.

◆ SCOPE: Served as an integral member of the leadership team, strengthening the daily activities of the association, providing thought leadership and strategic support to the executive director. ◆ IMPACT: Directed and managed state and local advocacy programs to include state and municipal governments, regulatory affairs, and grass roots efforts training local roofing contractors and roof consultants to deliver testimony and provide comments as subject matter experts.Developed testimonies for coalitions and delivered comments on behalf of the association before a broad range of policy makers, such as the ICC, ASHRAE, and municipal code-setting bodies.

◆ SCOPE: Founded and lead a nonprofit consulting organization, governing the infrastructure development, growth, and advancement of trade associations and nonprofit organizations. Govern boards, oversee cross-functional executive councils, large-scale budgets, meetings, entity-wide communications, member engagement, and public relations.◆ IMPACT: Attract, hire, train, and develop talent to bridge organizational gaps and enhance programs. Position associations for growth by directing the strategy and execution for increased member and sponsorship engagement.Ensured regulatory compliance throughout associations, managing legal documents and establishing standard operating procedures to mitigate operational risks.Elevate association missions throughout all communication platforms, including websites, newsletters, annual reports, publications, presentations, and social media, ensuring consistency in all messaging.Strengthen strategic alliances by building and maintaining trust-based relationships with the NRCA, IIBEC, and additional associations and coalitions, cross-promoting events and programs.Cultivate relationships with existing coalitions and provide leadership for new coalitions to further advance association initiatives and programs. Drive the strategy and execution for providing networking, mentoring, education, and industry recruitment opportunities for roofing and adjacent industries. ◆ IMPACT: Advanced the association from its founding to 2,100 members to 40+ major sponsors and 60+ chapters and programs that have engaged thousands of men and women in the roofing and building enclosure industry.Empowered and supported chapter leaders by structuring a knowledge database to meet the demands of growing chapters and reduce impact on staff.Researched, planned, and launched a diversity, equity, and inclusion education program for the roofing industry.Supervise the management of NWiRDay, including the planning, implementation, registration and reporting process, special events, and staff management.
