Artist who has lived and worked in New York City area for over 25 years. Trained at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and earned my MFA at City University of New York, Lehman College. I have transitioned from painting to sculpture and 3-deminsional work. My work now is largely about scale. My ceramic forms could easily be large-scale outdoor sculpture but are instead a sculptural or architectural model-size, fitting on a shelf or pedestal. My outdoor installations respond to the scale and the colors of the site. All of my work draws its visual vocabulary from functional forms, whether of ceramics, architecture, machines, or tools. It is spare. There are no superfluous flourishes that don’t have any basis in the real world of form.WEBSITE: http://myvault.wixsite.com/ellen-wilkinson
