I consider writing part of my identity. It is how I grow my understanding of the world and communicate my knowledge to others. To write is to think, and I could not imagine my life without it. However, the power of writing is conveyed only when it is read. Authors contribute to ongoing dialogues of their choosing, and I feel it is my responsibility to use my passion to display the importance and amazing advancements of science for all to understand. Ever since my grade-school science class, I have been fascinated by the natural world and our understanding of it, but knew I did not want a traditional science career. Many science writers grew my curiosity of botany, mycology, and health sciences while showing me that writing about science for a general population gives people the key to new worlds of information.
