In my role, I managed three independent labs for qualitative and quantitative research, overseeing a total budget exceeding $20.5K. Among my accomplishments, I conducted 130 qualitative interviews withpatients and clinicians, focusing on the implementation of sexual orientation and gender identity questions in the EMR. Additionally, I extracted intake data across the institution, identifying weaknesses in equity. My leadership extended to investigations on repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) targeting the left dorsolateral cortex to modify health behaviors. I conducted studies on various aspects, including cigarette smoking, physical activity, combined addiction, and patients with lung cancer seeking to quit smoking.Collaborating with Virginia Tech, I oversaw a team of 12 employees studying the effects of differentcigarette taxation proposals on purchasing behaviors through an electronic tobacco marketplace.Furthermore, I revitalized and organized over 15 years of NYS Smokers' Quitline data, creatingautomated, reproducible, and shareable reporting systems. This effort significantly contributed to securing grant funding, led to the founding of the Cannabis Research Unit, and enhanced outcome reporting software.I represented Roswell Park in the NIH's Cancer Center Cessation Initiative (C3I), part of President Biden's Cancer Moonshot Program, working towards establishing sustainable tobacco cessation programs for cancer centers. In this capacity, I compiled and analyzed quarterly data, collaborated with leadership, and advocated for dedicated tobacco treatment specialists.

In this role, I collaborated on the groundbreaking CCSVI/PREMiSe/CTEVD studies, where I activelyparticipated in investigating venous malformations in multiple sclerosis. This involved recruitingparticipants, witnessing procedures, and managing a comprehensive 1.4K person clinical trial. Our resultschallenged existing assumptions, contributing valuable knowledge to the field.As the leader of the MS-MRIUS trial, I successfully integrated AI into multiple sclerosis healthcare. Mystrategic selection and training of 33 U.S. centers facilitated the retrospective enrollment of 590 patients.The insights gained from this trial informed the development of a groundbreaking neurologist app,allowing real-time quantification of brain changes for proactive treatment decisions.Representing our lab in Russia for the Intekrin Therapeutics trial, I played a crucial role in investigatingthe potential of a diabetes medication in preventing MS lesions without side effects. This endeavorrequired effective adaptation to diverse oversight organizations, including the Russian Ministry of Health.My involvement in managing investigations analyzing the impact of various factors on disease burden,including excess body weight, diet, herbal supplements, alcohol, heart disease, smoking, sun exposure,and vitamin D, demonstrated my commitment to exploring diverse facets of health. This initiativemeasured cortical and white matter atrophy, lesion volume, and ventricle volume, providingcomprehensive insights.In addition, I took the initiative to master and apply ocular coherence tomography (OCT) technologyduring a significant study involving 1.4K participants. I validated results with ophthalmologists and trained seven staff members, leading to the publication of impactful studies on retinal nerve fiber layer thickness.
