As employee #25, I built Prometheus Group's recruiting program from the ground up. Within my first month I had created a recruitment process, achieved full adoption from leadership, and had hired four software developers - all of whom are still employed by Prometheus today. By the time I left PG, I had helped the company grow from 25 employees to 100 in a year and a half, with an almost perfect (98% retention rate) during that at period. I recruited talent locally in Raleigh as well as across international offices in England, Australia, The Netherlands, Brazil and South Africa. My responsibilities involved sourcing, interviewing and recommending prospective employees for employment in positions ranging from Software Development, Technical Support and QA to Sales Executives.

I always tell people that my first job out of college was the coolest job I ever had, and that's still true today! I was responsible for the engagement and well-being of 150 elderly residents. In addition to planning and executing a wide-range of activities, this role involved relationship building with residents and families, creation and distribution of community newsletter, and supervision of activity support staff and volunteers.When faced with steep budget cuts within two weeks of being hired I sold advertising space in our community newsletter to local businesses, effectively increasing my departmental budget by 33% in 2010 and 42% in 2011. Along with utilizing free community resources, this allowed me to fund more activities than ever before with a very limited budget. My department achieved outstanding customer surveys for three years running.To this day, I am extremely proud the impact I made on many lives at Independence Village, and enormously grateful for the transformative experience of working with members of The Greatest Generation.
