Not just because we have the highest standard of living ever achieved in human history, but also because ours is a remarkably beautiful stretch of the planet. From the redwood forests to the Gulf Stream waters, this nation contains an infinite variety of landscapes and species -- mountains, valleys, ocean beaches, creeks, nooks and crannies, plus trees, grasses, cats, bears, bald eagles, and critters. My job is to run campaigns to protect these places from local beachfronts to remote mountain peaks. Each victory will move us closer to an interim goal of protecting 30% of our land and oceans by the year 2030.

Impact is a campaign team that works in states where we can win positive change for our environment, our democracy and our future.Our mission is to create timely, focused citizen action, energy and power – the kind it takes to make an impact on important issues – through campaigns run in targeted cities and states.We partner with Environment America, the Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs) and Fair Share – well-established groups with solid track records on the issues.We currently employ campaign organizers in 25 states, working on national campaigns to reduce global warming pollution, restore Clean Water Act protections to America’s streams, expand solar power in 12 states from Georgia to Maryland to Texas, end the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms, and empower small donors to counter the influence of big-money interests like Big Ag, Big Oil, and Big Pharma.

Work for Progress runs field campaign for groups like Fair Share Action and Environment America Action Fund to help elect candidates who will fight to reverse global warming, get big money out of politics.Fair Share Action works to provide every American with a fair shot at a good job, a secure future and a strong voice in our democracy. We elect public officials who stick up for working families at all levels of government. We use tactics that promote citizen engagement and empower people to make a difference on issues that affect their daily lives.We have a multi-issue agenda that includes closing corporate tax loopholes, ending childhood hunger, growing a strong middle class, and fighting for a future that gives all Americans — not just the powerful or the lucky or the super-talented few — the opportunity to lead fulfilling lives as our economy changes.
