I supported middle school math students who were performing below grade level by administering evidence-based algebra readiness interventions and assessments. I utilized visuals, manipulatives and other concrete methods to enhance student understanding of algebra readiness concepts. As a result of my service, 90% of my students were performing significantly closer to their grade level standards, and 20% of students I tutored were exceeding grade level expectations. I successfully guided a diverse group of students to greater academic independence and developed positive relationships with students. Within this role I also worked in primary mathematics classrooms to offer additional teacher and student support, to ensure the success of all children in the classroom.
