I am currently Marketing Director, Sustainability at Synthomer, and am passionate about leading teams to apply strategic behavioral marketing to profitably solve social and environmental needs while advancing sustainability. I hold a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, 3.98 GPA, as well as an MBA, and am trained to lead initiatives involving Life Cycle Assessment and ISCC PLUS Certification. I have been promoted repeatedly over the course of my career to positions of greater responsibility. I started my career as an engineer, but then developed a passion for marketing and business development. I believe that my technical education and training have enhanced my ability to deliver a creative and innovative portfolio of solutions, build strong aligned cross functional teams, and drive external collaboration and growth. In terms of my career arc, I started as an Environmental Engineering Intern, then Chemical Engineer, Manufacturing Area Engineer, Senior Chemical Engineer, Principal Chemical Engineer, and then Technical Service Representative. As a Technical Service Representative, I supported Strategic Marketing, and that became my passion and ultimately the focus of my career. In my next role I became a Global Market Development Manager where I launched a top corporate growth project which was highlighted in the Wall Street Journal and was the recipient of the highest marketing award at Eastman. I also led a global-cross functional team, managing the growth portfolio for a >$50M business while developing expertise in segmentation and market activation. I was then promoted to Global Market Segment Manager responsible for direct supervision of Market Development Managers and cross-functional matrix leadership of a >$150M global business. Following the $1B Eastman Chemical Company divestiture to Synthomer, I was promoted into my current position as Marketing Director, Sustainability. In my current role, I am responsible for building and executing the sustainability strategy across the entire division, initiating sustainability branding corporately, leading the ISCC PLUS certification for all product lines, managing the growth portfolio and new product innovation, and leading a cross-functional team of marketing and technical experts while developing external partnerships across the supply chain and leveraging partners for value-based growth.Market experience: medical plastics, medical device, pharma, building and construction, furniture, and chemicals (specialty chemicals, plasticizers, adhesives (CASE), modified wood).
