Welcome to my corner of the Internet! I am a product designer who finds joy in making complex things make sense. I take pride in asking lots of questions, welcoming feedback, communicating effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, and iterating constantly. As a designer at a small and scrappy startup, I am accustomed to overseeing all aspects of the design process from initial research to final handoff, juggling multiple projects at once, and maintaining a can-do attitude even in the face of competing priorities. Like my designs, my career path has also gone through several iterations. I finally found my way to design after beginning my career in hospitality and education, as a teacher with Teach for America, a consultant helping bring robust Internet to hundreds of public schools throughout the country, and as a financial and real estate advisor for hotels up and down the West Coast. I have a passion for social and environmental justice and in doing my part to make the world a bit better than I found it. While in the classroom, I identified and implemented goals tailored to students’ individual needs and abilities, and provided education support to students with learning disabilities/ language barriers.Key Accomplishments:• Riverbend Prep Academy: Directed 25 elementary school students to attain the highest test scores in the school (85% mastery of literacy objectives and 83.5% mastery of math objectives as measured by year-end benchmark assessment).• Imagine Schools at Desert West: Restructured literacy and math curricula to lead 32 primarily Spanish-speaking elementary students to attain 90% mastery of literacy & math.
