Creative director for Capacity, a friendly, boutique-style agency that partners with some of the most compelling entertainment brands in the world to create custom content of all kinds. Most of our work is connected to the video game industry / esports, which is kind of awesome.Here is a list of ten things I love, in loose order of professional relevance:1. Working with smart, passionate, down-to-earth people. It’s so rewarding to be surrounded by a great team and to partner with so many amazing clients who also happen to be very lovable fellow humans. 2. Creating things. Forever grateful that my love of drawing somehow led to this.3. Problem solving using both sides of my brain. I love that insatiable pursuit of the ideal creative solution that ticks all the right conceptual, visual, and strategic boxes. Also, our work tends to require equal parts creative and technical wrangling, which can be satisfying in itself. 4. Discovering new tools / techniques / processes. I never want to stop learning and growing and adapting. Not only does it help us stay ahead of trends, it’s also just way more interesting to be outside of your comfort zone.5. Typography. Color. Composition. Purposeful f-curves. Good digital craft. 6. Getting consumed by a fantastical story. A well-written game or book is my preferred form of escapism. (Shout out to Breath of the Wild, Horizon Zero Dawn, Windwaker, Wheel of Time, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Snow Crash, Dawn of Wonder, and a million other nerdy references.)7. Spending time with my family. Being a best friend to wife and my kids. All the hard work is worth it for them.8. Being active and healthy. But also craft beer and great food.9. Gaming during lunch breaks (and whenever else there is time).10. Sleeping.
