About Elle Cohen
I am currently a student at Indiana University studying Accounting and Finance. My interest in Accounting and Finance started in high school when I would work in my family’s small business in Southern California. Working in my family’s business I had a lot of exposure to the operations of a business from merchandising, to organizing the inventory, and finally selling the product into the hands of the consumer. However, during that experience I never learned the Accounting and Finance components of a business, which lead me to my present major. Dedicating myself to my family’s beauty business, I spent all of high school working and learning at 2nd Street Beauty. However, in the spring of 2020, the business was another victim to the Coronavirus and had to close. With the remaining inventory and the excessive customer base remaining, I transitioned the business into a new market: e-commerce. By overseeing this new business, Beauty Flirt, I was able to gain valuable experience in multiple facets of the business world, while also gaining important insight and experience in optimizing a business for an unprecedented and unpredictable commercial climate.
