I can calm a plane of angry passengers down with Biscoff cookies and the power of geography. Can you name all 50 US states off the top of your head? Not many adults can, and I use that to my advantage when mitigating lengthy delays on the tarmac that I can’t control. Within the regulations of FAA regulations and company policy, I have passengers compete with each other for extra Biscoff cookies. If they can write down all 50 states, then they will get an extra cookie.This seemingly small, absurd game is a very intentional experience that I have designed using Martin Seligman’s Theory of Well-Being and PERMA. By engaging guests with a competitive task, they have the opportunity to build relationships with their seatmates around them. They also can feel a sense of accomplishment when they successfully name all 50 states and get their cookie, as well as find meaning in their prior geographical knowledge. Most people find the request amusing, which turns anger into amusement - a positive emotion.

During the launch of our 2nd edition flight attendant uniforms, I took the lead in managing the uniform inventory and fitting process for the final class of initial training to receive the 1st edition while my supervisor was unavailable. By forecasting demand and problem-solving when needed, I minimized the amount of excess inventory and ensured that 98% of new hires received all uniform pieces on time. To streamline the fitting process, I implemented a system that allowed new hires to be fitted for certain pieces outside of the dressing rooms. I also kept the uniform racks organized by size and color to enhance efficiency and reduce confusion among fitters. My attention to detail eliminated inefficiencies and expedited the process by 5 minutes per person, resulting in an hour-long reduction in overall fitting time.On days that were not as hectic, I worked on uniform fulfillment for flight attendants and pilots, processed incoming packages, and taught pilots how to measure their sizes and order new uniform pieces.
