Ellie Wallace is a Forth Year Medical Student at Western University of Health Sciences at Western University of Health Sciences. Colleagues describe her as "Ellie was among the first students that I taught when I accepted a tenure-track position at Colorado Mesa University -- and I taught her in many courses including Biochemistry I (CHEM 315), Biochemistry Laboratory (CHEM 315L), Biochemistry II (CHEM 316), Advanced Laboratory (CHEM 341), and Communicating in the World of Chemistry (CHEM 442). I'm delighted to say that Ellie definitely stood apart from most students I taught in the 2019-2020 academic year. Not only was Ellie a standout student with regard to her aptitudes on exams, lab reports, and so forth -- but she was a pleasure to teach in many other ways as well. Where many students nowadays are not without a high level of entitlement and disrespect -- Ellie was in fact one of the most respectful, optimistic, and pleasant students that I taught when compared to her peers; she was among the few who was able to take constructive criticism and actually deconstruct it so as to improve herself significantly. I do not recall ever seeing her without a smile on her face, with nothing but the most pleasant attitude and disposition for everyone with whom she interacted. I already miss Ellie and absolutely wish her the best -- and recommend her fully -- for the osteopathic medicine track that she very enthusiastically wants to follow."
