Deaf Lids™ (patent pending) helps children and adults with cochlear implants engage in activities and sports, using a specially designed helmet and foam inserts to protect their implant. The business was started in March of 2021, where an LLC was formed to support Deaf Lids, called Josephine Consulting. The creation of this business has allowed vital business skills to be learned, including communication for meetings, proper email etiquette and hiring various consultants to support the business. Through this venture, I had the ability to participate in the Big East Startup Challenge in NYC, where I placed second overall and won $1,000 USD. With participation in numerous pitch competitions like Big East, I have had the ability to grow my mindset and entrepenuerial skills.

College Mentors is a wonderful non-profit program dedicated to mentoring kids to inspire bright futures. As the role of Vice President of Programming, I work with the kids and the mentors to provide fun and engaging activities to grow their thinking and awareness in the world. The kids who go through the program learn about possible future opportunities through school, while the mentors gain a sense of purpose and engage within their community.

I am a member of Tri Delta, Delta Lambda Chapter at Butler University

Through this internship, I will be focusing on assisting with market research, content development and documentation for our sales and operations team. Through creating equipment content, I will be able to ensure that each sales team has a deep understanding of the products they are selling, as well as how to compare differing products when faced with a choice.
