About Ellie Floyd
I graduated from Carleton University with a BA in Sociology in 2018 and am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Education at the University of Ottawa, specifically in Leadership, Evaluation, Curriculum and Policy studies. My studies focus on how teachers can be supported in navigating their students' mental health concerns. My hope is to contribute to policy that would ensure educators are equipped to navigate crises in their classrooms. I currently work as support staff at a restaurant and do various art projects on the side. One project I am particularly proud of is a collaboration with Gloucester high school, where we designed and executed some murals in their bathrooms. Previously, I worked as a facilitator for YouthNet Ottawa delivering presentations about mental health education and running art programs and projects with youth from various high schools.
