The Safety Investigation Authority investigates all major accidents and serious incidents in Finland. My field of expertise is communication. The latest investigation I participated in was the assessment of the measures taken in Finland due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The investigation team was appointed by the Government of Finland in September 2020 and the report was published in June 2021.I have earlier participated in the following investigations: "R2017-03 Level crossing accident which led to four deaths at Raasepori on 26 October 2017" and "Y2016-01 Radioactive leak in Helsinki's Roihupelto area on 3 March 2016".

The Advisory Board for Defence Information is a permanent parliamentary committee appointed by the Government of Finland. I am the deputy representative for The Swedish People's Party (SFP/RKP). The Advisory Board studies the public spirit of citizens in connection with foreign and security policy, national defence and security. The Board also organises seminars and opportunities for discussion on security policy, national defence and preparedness.

As senior consultant at the PR agency Westander I worked with media relations, lobbying and crisis communications in Sweden and in Finland. One of my responsibilities was to prepare for the establishment of Westander in Finland.

The task of the National Emergency Supply Agency is to ensure the security of supply - that is the society’s ability to maintain the basic functions required for ensuring people’s livelihood, the overall functioning and safety of society, and the material preconditions for military defence in the event of serious disruptions and emergencies. As part time secretary of the printing industry pool my task was to coordinate the network of industries within the printing industry and organize trainings for these.

As one of two special advisers to the Minister of Defence Stefan Wallin the work included providing the Minister with background information, political advice and support. I represented the Minister at a number of governmental meetings, including the Ministerial working group on Artic Issues led by the Prime Minister and a governmental working group on wind power. My tasks also included writing op-eds, columns and speeches.

My tasks as the Mission spokesperson included to advise senior staff on policy matters in relation to media and public information and to supervise a multinational staff of 15 persons including a press unit, a public information unit, a media monitoring office and graphic design and web development staff. The work included developing communication strategies and preparing press lines; speaking to local and international media on OSCE mission policy; supervising the production of print and broadcast public information material and supervising the planning and conducting of public information campaigns and activities of the mission (printed material, TV-advertisements, TV-debates, concerts, campaigns).

My position was at the press and public information section of the Defence Command (the Headquarters) of the Finnish Defence Forces. My main responsibilities were the Swedish language press information of the Defence Forces, international questions and information on Finnish participation in peacekeeping operations. I participated in the strategy planning, co-ordination and supervising of the public information policy of the Finnish Defence Forces. During my service I participated in developing of a media monitoring and analysing system for the Defence Forces and I supervised and led a team of 20 persons responsible for the media monitoring. My daily tasks included drafting specific information strategies, writing press releases, giving interviews and organizing media events. I also planned and supervised media visits to international locations including Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2006. I also planned and executed media training for military personnel, including media training for international students in courses in Sweden, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia.

As Press Information Officer of the Finnish Contingent in the KFOR peacekeeping operation in Kosovo I acted as the spokesperson for the contingent to Finnish media. I advised the contingent commander on public information matters, produced press releases, news to the Finnish Defence Forces web-pages, published a magazine and managed a radio station for internal communication. I planned and hosted several press visits and organized the communication related to several high level visits, including the visit of the President of Finland.

I served as Media Operations Officer in the Norwegian led PRT Meymaneh in the Faryab province in Afghanistan. I was employed by the Finnish Defence Forces that deployed troops to the ISAF –peacekeeping operation. My tasks included planning and executing information operations in Faryab province. I was responsible for contacts with international and Afghan media and planned and hosted press visits. Our PRT supported under my supervision the local media in a complicated media context (interference from the Taliban movement, death threats and need for special support for female journalists). I also functioned as the spokesperson for the Finnish Contingent responsible for press visits, giving interviews, producing press releases and web-features for the Finnish Defence Forces.

I worked as a journalist in several different news rooms at the Finnish national broadcasting company, Yle. During my studies I worked as part time reporter based in Vasa and in the autumn 2001 I worked as freelance correspondent in Oslo, Norway. From January to June 2002 I worked as TV news reporter and news anchor, for the Swedish language morning TV-news Morgonnytt in Helsinki. During the period 8 July 2002 – 4 July 2003 I did military service and returned then to Yle and worked at the main evening TV-news and breakfast TV news as news reporter. My tasks included both working as a general reporter reporting on any daily news stories and also editing and writing international news telegrams.

During my studies and during holidays and leaves I worked as a reporter at the regional daily newspaper Vasabladet. My job included covering general daily news stories – everything from visits of the President of Finland to forest fires, crop production forecasts to human trafficking.
