Manager, Sitting Volleyball
CurrentLead all efforts for new athlete identification, recruitment, and skill development. Collaborate with USA Volleyball’s 40 region volleyball associations, Paralympic sports clubs, city parks and recreation departments, veteran affairs facilities, and other disabled sport organizations for the grassroots development of sitting volleyball. Oversee all national team domestic competition events and assist with logistical planning of team training camps. Partner with marketing department to create promotional materials. Contribute to the production of the Sitting Volleyball and High Performance Departments’ annual operating and high performance plan. Assist in the creation of the athlete selection procedures and conduct athlete evaluations for national team roster selections leading to World ParaVolley sanctioned international competitions, including the Paralympic Games, World Championships, and Parapan America Games. Solicited and managed approximately $550k in grant and donation funding received since 2009. Organized and served as Head Coach for the U.S. Girls’ Youth Sitting Volleyball team, leading them to a silver medal at the 2017 Youth Parapan American Games in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Awarded 2014 NGB Choice Award for Diversity & Inclusion by the United States Olympic Committee for the creation and leadership of USA Volleyball’s Sitting Volleyball Summit; program to support disabled veterans and disabled members of the Armed Forces to learn and play sitting volleyball in their home communities.
