Started my working career working for my dads landscaping business as I enjoyed the outdoors and wanted to be outside rather than working in an office. I Went to Merrist wood to study level 3 landscape and design and then carried on to do a level 3 arboriculture corse at Merrist wood after working for a friend at the weekend doing tree surgery work. I left college and worked for a couple of local tree surgeons but always loved the idea of driving machinery. Ever since I was a child I always loved tractors and diggers. I then worked for a couple of mechanised tree surgery and forestry company’s driving machinery such as chippers, mulchers, tractors, harvesters, forwarders, excavators etc. I have since progressed from machinery and tree surgery into forestry works manager and also timber marketing role. Chatting to customers, land agents, estate owners and timber/firewood customers is what I enjoy most and being able to see a full site from start to finish.
