Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement1) Performed R&D tasks associated with design ideation, IP creation, prototyping, design characterization and verification testing for next generation Recoverable implant.2) Evaluated patient-specific, in-vivo boundary conditions and device performance for assessment of Nitinol frame durability through bench and numerical (FEA) testing.3) Evaluated implant hydrodynamic and durability performance through bench and numerical (FEA) testing.

Transcatheter aortic heart valve design/developmentSurgical aortic heart valve design/developmentIntegral R&D team member for the design and development of the Avalus next generation surgical pericardial aortic heart valve. Activities include injection molded component design, developing design specifications, performing design characterization and verification testing, finite element analysis for component fatigue assessment, and technical writing of summaries for regulatory submissions.Lead valve designer for a next generation transcatheter aortic heart valve. Responsible for developing design concepts and indirect managing of R&D prototype technicians. Utilized finite element analysis to screen and down select a variety of design concepts.

Ph.D. in the Cardiac Mechanics Research Group at UCSD. Doctoral research focused on endocardial left ventricular pacing in heart failure and dilated cardiomyopathy with dyssynchrony. Studied the effects of LV endocardial pacing lead location on regional and global ventricular mechanics (wall stains) as well as global LV performance (pressure-volume relationships, LV dPdt, and cardiac output).Authored multiple peer-reviewed articles in the scientific and clinical literature as first author. Contributed to multi-year R01 NIH grant applications and AHA post-doctoral grant applications on original research.

Manufacturing engineering intern
