I completed a multitude of tasks ranging from event preparation, research for improving the club in a certain aspect, and providing rackets instruction. Chevy Chase Club has a rigorous internship which was thought provoking, hands-on, and allowed me to learn more about the hospitality industry.

I was running tennis summer camps for up to 40 children from 8am - 5pm, along with private lessons scheduled in between and after. This role required me to be extremely hands on and enthusiastic as the ages of the children ranged between 5 to 16, requiring the ability to entertain all ages while also providing quality instruction. This was a very international setting requiring an understanding of a minimum of 3 languages. Instruction in these 3 languages was also required to complete the role of the job. Additionally, there were individuals which understood none of these languages, meaning I had to adapt in explaining what to do by using non-verbal skills. As I spent many hours with no break coaching and entertaining on my feet, it required persistence and mental fortitude to try and maintain a stimulating and entertaining environment. The ability to adapt was an important skill as there was always a need to alter any instruction I had planned due to ability and needs of the individuals.

I was tasked with running clinics and private lessons for children and adults of all ages. Additionally, I ran summer camps for 15-20 children at any one time. This job required on the spot decision making and ability to entertain at all times while providing professional instruction.
