The Amy Winehouse Foundation is one of the UK's best known charities. It runs a nationwide schools program to educate young people around drugs, alcohol and emotional resilience; a recovery house, specifically designed to support young women leaving residential treatment; a residential programme for young men and women who need help to recover from drug or alcohol problems; music therapy, supporting children with life limiting illness in the UK, and community music prorgrams for young people living in Jamaica and St Lucia.I have created (and implemented) each iteration of the organisation's communications and fundraising strategies.,steered the organisation’s brand identity, project managed an overhaul of its website (from tender to delivery), managed relationships with numerous celebrity ambassadors and patrons and helped to devise and implement various fundraising and awareness campaigns.

Drug Science is the UK's leading independent scientific body on drugs and drug research, working to provide clear, evidence-based information without political or commercial interference. I led on all of the organisation's press and media work.

I led on major profile-raising and fundraising campaigns for a range of leading UK charities, with all creative work being based on in-depth interviews, research and audience insight. Successes included a nationwide campaign for the RSPB in 2018, helping it prepare for incoming GDPR legislation. As a result the organisation retained contact with a record 71 per cent of its donors (the most successful campaign of its kind by any UK charity).

I managed a 13-strong team and led on all press and marketing for this respected arts centre and concert venue.I created and implemented the organisation's marketing and communications strategy, played an instrumental role in the creation of its business strategy, secured £1.1m of funding with Sage Group, established a clear, coherent identity for the organisation’s learning and participation programme and established a contemporary brand for its 10th anniversary celebrations, which included bringing the BBC’s 6 Music Festival to the venue.

I ran the press office for the UK’s largest drug and alcohol treatment provider, significantly raising the charity’s profile among the public, policy makers, government ministers and key stakeholders.I acted as a regular spokesperson on drug and alcohol issues for all major UK news outlets; I worked with the Society of Editors to challenge stigmatising language about people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction; I worked with TV and film producers to advise on storylines that involved addiction, I represented the charity at Cross Parliamentary group meetings in Westminster, and I ran fringe meetings and sessions at all major UK political conferences.

I also work as a communications advisor for Hopeland, a US organisation addressing the many issues around International Adoption; I'm a communications consultant for the market research organisation Watch Me Think, and I have held various advisory and board positions in the arts, including with London’s Multi-Story Orchestra. Outside of this I work as a journalist and writer, and also illustrate books for Penguin, Faber and Faber and other publishers.
