As a PhD researcher I use a variety of computational techniques to study the physics of dark matter and neutrinos. Much of my research has involved building computer models to test theoretical predictions against experimental data. For this I have used mostly Python, with some basic C++. A full list of my publications can be found at my INSPIRE HEP page: https://inspirehep.net/authors/1737893 In addition to the technical expertise I have gained, I have developed my skills in a number of key areas:• Teamwork: I have worked in teams of a variety of sizes and structures: a development team managing a software package, a large international collaboration of over 100 members, and several smaller groups of 4-8 collaborators from institutes around the world• Communication: I have experience of conveying complex information to audiences with a wide range of technical knowledge. I have presented my research at several international conferences, and am part of a public outreach network educating the public on cutting edge physics which has reached over 50000 participants nationwide.• Networking: An important part of academia is developing contacts to collaborate with on future projects. I have attended many conferences in the UK and beyond, and spent a month on secondment at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Illinois working with some of the world's top experts on neutrino physics.• Problem solving: All of the projects I have worked on have required me to quickly familiarise myself with complex subject matter, identify reasonable goals for the project, and develop any new technical skills needed to achieve them.
