Head of Modelling at the National Audit Office I built capability and led a community of quantitative modellers to undertake Modelling projects and review over 20 government accounting estimates underpinned by models with a value over £500bn. Work which was underpinned by the NAO's framework to review models.

Written and published the NAO's framework to review models, review of waste and recycling forecasts and spatial analysis on the exciting English job centre estate.Also contributed to two value for money studies on automatic enrolment and transforming rehabilitation.

Flexible project worker operating in the Flexible Resource Unit, an internal consultancy with a mission to support the business solve policy, evidence and implementation problems. Projects include:• Corporate Business Planning: Excel modelling skills to test the affordability of the admin budget over the time period 2013/14 - 2015/16. Evidence was crucial to support senior managers identify ways to reduce the admin budget by 35%.• National Pupil Projections: Excel modelling skills to project pupil numbers over the time period 2014 - 2022 and across multiple system characteristics. Project completed on time and the results have been published (see link).• Point Score Review: SQL, SPSS and excel modelling skills to assess the impact of changing qualification point scores for KS4 & KS5 qualifications. New point score system developed and tested is to be implemented from 2016.• Unit costs of school support staff: SPSS and excel modelling skills to develop unit costs for school support staff. Unit costs have been quality assured and are being extensively used internally.• Review of the National Leaders of Education (NLE) Programme: Used facilitation and research skills to build an evidence base to assess the effectiveness of the NLE Programme. The work identified a number of approaches to improve the current programme. This included the creation of a new £13m school to school support fund (see link).• Data Exchange: Used business case development skills to build and assess options to support software suppliers build management information systems which are capable of enabling schools and DfE to exchange data overnight. This work remains ongoing.• Traineeships: Used statistical analysis techniques to impact assess Traineeship funding reform on targeted groups of people. Also used facilitation and research skills to review PPM processes within the team. This work remains ongoing.=
