Led zero to one initiatives in the people organization Talent Platforms Wayfair grew from 5K to 25K people while I was there, and we set up a global team focused on brand marketing, growth marketing and recruiting tools development/integration. Rolled this out to a ~300 person recruiting team for all role profiles and regions.Data Science and Machine Learning Scale UpOver the course of 2 years, we confederated a group of machine learning engineers and data scientists into a core data science function and scaled the team from 20 to 250 people (50% of whom have Ph.D.s). We established data science as a core capability across all major functions of the business (marketing, pricing, supply chain, merchandising, and website personalization.)

I worked as a turnaround consultant for 2 VC backed tech companies that needed to restructure and be positioned for acquisition (Voxel8 & Polyera)

We created a great niche semiconductor nanotech materials company over the course of 5 years. We served hundreds of customers globally ranging including Fortune 500 companies, the US military, and university research institutions. We sold the company to Raymor Industries in 2014, and the company operates profitably today.

Sold a lot of dog food and pioneered social media marketing tactics when Twitter and Facebook were in their infancy. (If I was more clever, I would have moved to Palo Alto and begged Zuck for a job.)
