Everywhere & Anywhere

In my spare time, I work freelance to provide sound design on a wide range of projects. These briefs have facilitated work with some insanely talented people, and taken me from film sets to farmhouses and everywhere in between. Mostly though, they see me sitting for hours on end with a laptop under lamplight – luckily, that modest late-night glow has generated a few soundscapes that have managed to accompany some very bright ideas. Writing articles, reviews, and conducting interviews, with a primary focus on music and entertainment.

Boiler Room was a fully integrated, full service boutique advertising agency, specialising in brand strategy, ATL, BTL and design work. In my 18-month tenure, I myself was afforded the ‘full service’ agency experience. Put plainly, Boiler Room offered the best of both worlds, in that the agency was large enough to ensure that I was entrusted with a range of significant responsibilities on key accounts, while intimate enough to provide invaluable mentoring from senior staff members and thus a chance to glean insight from their extensive and varied knowledge bases. Working on a diverse range of accounts and pitches (including Medibank, Holden Special Vehicles, IVECO Trucks, The Holden Racing Team, Red Energy, Toro Mowers, Highway Plus Automotive Parts, Jumbobags, The Victorian Department of Justice, and Places Victoria) allowed me to garner a solid understanding of writing for a range of brands in a variety of tones and commercial contexts, including television, radio, DM, EDM, long-form copy/brochures, press and POS.
