Responsible for providing regional oversight to a portfolio of life plan communities/continuing care retirement communities across several states. Key focuses include building effective partnerships with each community’s board of directors/ownership group while ensuring success through effective leadership of executive directors and LCS resource team members (finance, sales, Human Resources, clinical support, compliance, etc.).

First Executive Director at Brandon Wilde, a life plan community (CCRC), following the LCS acquisition. Implemented best practices, systems and programs while improving the financial viability through expense reduction and occupancy development.Responsible for a $20M budget and all operations at Brandon Wilde, a newly-acquired LCS life plan community (CCRC). Brandon Wilde sits on a 73-acre campus consisting of over 240 independent living apartments and cottages, 40 assisted living suites, 25 memory care residences and 65 skilled nursing and rehab beds. The community serves approximately 400 residents and over 200 team members.Key accomplishments include:-Introduced LCS branded programs, systems and best practices to the newly acquired community.-Stabilized the community financially, increasing Net Operating Income from a Net Operating Loss of over $140,000 per month to an average Net Operating Income of between $80,000 and $100,000 per month.-Significantly reduced capital expenditures by leveraging the power of LCS procurement, resulting in savings of over $500,000 per year while achieving the same finished product in our standard refurbishments. -Increased occupancy across all levels of care while optimizing payer mixes in the Skilled Nursing Facility, Assisted Living and Memory Care.

Responsible for all healthcare operations at Westminster Village Terre Haute, a Life Plan Community. Provided oversight as the licensed administrator of the 78-bed Medicare/Medicaid certified skilled nursing facility and the 55-bed assisted living community. Also guided the distribution of home health services throughout the entire community, including approximately 200 independent living units. Key accomplishments include:-Increasing average Medicare Part A census by over 50%.-Decreased average length of stay and readmission rate in order to exceed Union Hospital's Accountable Care Organization goals.-Served on the Union Hospital ACO Community Education committee, and helped lead a campaign aimed at educating the Wabash Valley on the importance of ACO partner providers.-Guided Westminster Village Health & Rehab through a successful IGT/UPL agreement with Rush Memorial Hospital. The IGT agreement increased annual revenues by over $445,000.-Successfully guided Westminster Village through a random IRS audit, which required ample explanation of bond proceed usage dating back 25+ years.

Responsible for all operations of the skilled nursing facility, including personnel management, budget preparation, and adherence to all state and federal regulations. Key accomplishments include increasing Medicare A census by over 300% within my first three months, and increasing private pay census by 200% during my first five months. Streamlined the admission process and fostered a culture that embraces a high occupancy. Maintained a five-star CMS rating.

Built an understanding of CCRC operations, best practices and business strategy. Assisted the Executive Director and Administrator with special projects. Completed a state-approved Administrator-in-Training program and obtained NHA licensure.

Spent time in every department within the long-term care facility learning routines, rules, regulations, audits, and quality improvement measures. Discovered a genuine passion for long-term care and serving the elderly.
