A field based role overseeing the operation of drilling offshore oil and gas wells requiring the ability to communicate clearly with rig client, management and crew. Responsible for enhancing performance through process control and fluid treatment to improve drilling efficiency and deliver results on schedule.- Periodic fluid sampling for onsite lab testing, calculating treatment plans to keep properties within strict limits.- Minimising contamination while switching between fluid systems, ensuring plans are in place to contain moving volume.- Selecting screen size to sieve out drill solids and remove fine particles via centrifuge or settling tanks.- Testing mix water for chloride contamination which could react with cement, checking gas levels, adjusting pH and inhibiting waste oil/water slops for safe transport and disposal.- Keeping client informed of daily operations and treatment costs, submitting technical reports. MS Office packages, One-Trax (in house software).- Forecasting and tracking chemical use to ensure availability of treatments.- Calculating volumes, chemical concentrations, flow rates. - Quickly building positive working relationships with clients and operations staff with high turnover.- Leading Toolbox Talks, completing risk assessments and using Permit to Work safety system.
