The solutions give growing organizations access to enterprise-quality custom software solutions without the complexity and high cost that enterprise software usually brings. We license the platform to our network of expert solution providers who develop custom solutions for their business and non-profit clients.I am deeply involved in the ongoing development of the software platform and the related services. I've worked with this project for the past 20 years for corporate clients, so it's incredibly exciting to be able to provide the same quality and feature set to small and mid-sized organizations.

At CodeCrafters we create software solutions for the global business community. We're a mid-sized team that loves tackling big projects. Our software solutions team uses the AppHosting.zone platform to provide custom web-based business software solutions for small and mid-sized organizations. Our C++ development team provides core development on a 2 million LOC software project used by corporate clients throughout the U.S. It also forms the core of the AppHosting.zone platform that we use to provide customized web-based business software solutions for small to mid-sized businesses. I love software design – whether it’s designing a management cockpit for a growing business or new reporting features for enterprise software. I spend significant time managing the C++ software project -- working with the interested parties, negotiating priorities, and designing jobs. I enjoy using the skills I've developed to solve tough problems and create beautiful solutions for our clients.What I enjoy the most is training and mentoring. While I'm proud of our software solutions that we provide, I'm even more proud of the team at CodeCrafters. It's exciting to see fresh graduates gain skill and confidence and become skilled craftsmen. I love seeing our senior engineers tackle tough problems and solve them well.

In 2006, our family moved to Bangladesh to explore starting a software company. During this year, In addition to working on business research and learning the Bangla language, I continued working part-time as a software developer for Software Builders.

Investortools is located in the greater Chicago area, but as I became more senior, I gradually grew a team of developers in Kansas to work for the company. The team was young, full of energy, and passionate about learning and writing great code. We pushed out an incredible number of features during those years in the midst of feeding our pet piranhas and building fun projects like a Snack Bar database complete with a bar code scanner to track our consumption of caffeine and Ramen noodles. In addition to leading the team, I was also heavily involved in project management and system specification and design.Some of my favorite projects from our team during this time included: * Three of us doing a major rewrite of our object-oriented database to add 64-bit support and fixing a number of multi-user issues in the process. * Creating a powerful Word and Excel templating feature that integrated with our reporting engine, allowing us to create rich Word and Excel exports from our database. * Creating our own graph drawing library. * Coordinating the specification and coding the Custom Index Manager, an entire new product for Investortools. This involved significant refactoring of substantial subsystems in our project.

I was one of the original developers on the C++ financial analysis project that we continue to develop today. Because we started as a small team, I covered everything from database programming to discovering the nuances of Windows common controls. My favorite domain was working in the powerful reporting and graphing engine. It's evolved dramatically over the past 20 years, but it still forms the heart of our application and it's still my favorite subsystem!Specific projects: * Created a binary diffing library that was used as the engine for an internal source code control for over a decade. * Ported a custom object-oriented database from a Pascal code base to C++. * Optimized report creation by introducing support for tuned indices for our database. * Created a customized Windows combo box control with speedkeying and auto-dropdown support. This was one of my most interesting Windows UI programming jobs. * Added a crash diagnostics subsystem that included handling SEH exceptions, call stack logging, and screen capture at the time of the crash.
