Duties included managing vendor implementations of the following workstreams: network (switch infrastructure and 60 access points), A/V (20 small/medium conference rooms, boardroom, and 190 person assembly hall, all with integrated Zoom Rooms), access control (card access and camera solution), printing (14 new printers on 4 different floors), computer room and structured cabling.• Managed and executed IT infrastructure integration of asset acquisition from ConocoPhillips, consisting of 4 field sites in Texas and New Mexico, 80 users and 84 network devices. Activities included project and resource planning, sourcing and imaging of end user devices, identification and porting of relevant phone numbers, acquisition of data from ConocoPhillips and distribution to intended Maverick groups, account creation for incoming end users, planning and executing data network connectivity and integrating acquired network devices, and transfer and integration of copier/printers. Site networks were integrated and all end user devices were handed out within an 8-hour cutover period on 6/1 and completed on-time and under budget.• Managed insourcing of helpdesk from external MSP. Implemented ServiceDesk Plus hosted solution and hired internal staff to support helpdesk operations. Insourcing provided better response time to resolution vs. MSP model, which increased customer satisfaction.• Managed implementation of Citrix environment conversion from on-prem to Citrix Cloud. System upgrades and new profile management resulted in overall performance improvements and fixed existing bugs.

Team leader and subject matter expert for setting up a new Azure environment for Mesquite Energy (formerly Sanchez Energy) and migrating assets to the new infrastructure. Also responsible for providing day-to-day infrastructure support for Azure environment, firewalls, network, servers, and field communications equipment. Notable achievements include:• Supported the migration of all of Mesquite’s data center infrastructure to Azure Cloud, including architecture and engineering for Azure IaaS and PaaS services. Decommissioned colocation facility space in February, 2022.• Implemented Azure files for Mesquite Energy and migrated 13 TB of on-prem file share data to Azure files. Improved performance for frequently used files by setting up Azure file sync servers at local offices to cache files locally for faster access. Eliminated requirement to back up on-prem file servers because files are replicated to Azure and backed up there.• Facilitated separation of Mesquite servers and data from Sanchez environment by building a new Azure infrastructure environment for Mesquite Energy in a separate tenant space, migrating Mesquite servers and data to the new Azure infrastructure, and separating the two tenants when transition was complete.• Researched and planned automation environment based on Ansible to automate configuration and deployment of Azure and on-prem VM deployment, Windows server configuration, and Cisco router configuration.• Planned and managed relocation of corporate data center to colocation facility. Project included hiring specialized movers, coordinating move of WAN circuits, ordering cross-connections, designing network architecture of new environment, coordinating with facility management at both sites, supervising move, preparing environment to return to production, and post-move troubleshooting and cleanup. Move was completed on schedule.

Hands-on manager of a 12-person team responsible for all aspects of IT Infrastructure at Sanchez Oil & Gas, including cloud infrastructure, networking, servers, virtualization, IP telephony, desktop support, field support, help desk, firewalls, and IT security. Notable activities include:• Designed and managed Azure tenant infrastructure to facilitate reliable, high-performance cloud computing environment to further strategic goal of migrating services to cloud where feasible. Responsible for VPN connectivity, ExpressRoute configuration with VPN failover, tenant space security, virtual Palo Alto firewall and associated user-defined route tables, and vnet creation and peering.• Provided corporate office with high speed, low latency access to Azure by planning and executing the project to install ExpressRoute circuit between the corporate office and Azure. Ordered circuit from carrier, configured BGP peering to exchange routes, and configured automatic VPN failover for seamless communications in the event of an ExpressRoute circuit outage.• Managed and executed project to transition network and communications for newly acquired asset and integrate into existing environment. Project consisted of interconnecting local office network, phone system, and network connectivity to 100 central processing facilities in the field to the Sanchez-managed network. Completed project ahead of schedule.• Virtualized environment and improved performance of SCADA application by acquiring and installing Dell VxRail Hyperconverged Computing Infrastructure and integrated VMware environment. VxRail was self-installed, saving the company thousands of dollars in consulting fees.
