After completing my first year of college as a Student Athlete at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi I have learned a lot about myself and what makes me successful. I am a business major with the hopes of becoming a medical device sales representative. I am looking to grow my networking and experience within the business world. This year I have equipped myself with skills that will help me be successful in the world outside of college. These skills consist of time management, teamwork, leadership, communication, and problem solving. These skills I have had the chance to develop as a student athlete who is constantly under pressure. This year as I explore who I am and what it takes for me to be successful, I have learned what my character strengths are. These character strengths consist of fairness, social intelligence, hope, self-regulation, and forgiveness. This year has been a blessing as it has helped me grow into a stronger individual. I have been able to use my specific skills to benefit me in my education and in my athletes here on the Island at Texas A&M - Corpus Christi.Now being at The University of Georgia I have been equipped with a whole new set of skills. In my transition as a transfer student has taught me lessons and equipped me with skills I never knew I was capable of prior to my transfer. My ability to adjust to a new school proved my ability to problem solve and adjust to changes easily. In my transfer process I was able to manage the pressures of starting over and balance the changes and anxiety that came along with this decision. Now that I am in Terry College of Business, I am beginning my professional developmental skills learned in the classroom to ensure my full preparation for the business world. My first semester at the University has allowed me to prove that no matter where I am, I can and will be successful because I have set my mind to being the best version of myself. Being a former Division 1 Student Athlete I know that I am a high performing individual with high standards and work ethic.
