In her role, she responded to community complaints, planned and implemented targeted compliance inspections, and provided on-call incident response. Ms. Krause was promoted to the Petroleum and Gas Unit, where she was within a team of professional environmental officers assessing and conditioning high priority environmental authorities for gas fields, export pipelines, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities on Curtis Island near Gladstone, Queensland. In her role, she advised government agencies, community, and industry on environmental regulations and policies and negotiated permit conditions with applicants. She liaised with the Australian Commonwealth Government, various Queensland Government departments and DEHP regional offices on the conditioning of permits and participated in progress meetings with permit applicants.
