Hi, I’m Ellison Chen. As the lead developer at TaskMapper, my days are filled with leading full-stack development projects. What I really enjoy is mentoring the up-and-coming developers in my team, fostering a hands-on, collaborative workspace, and steering our projects across the finish line. My academic journey started with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Medical Physics and Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science/Research from Ryerson University. I always had a knack for programming, which led me to further sharpen my skills with a Web Development Certificate from the University of Toronto in 2022.Before landing here, I spent some time at the University Health Network (UHN), getting my hands dirty with medical imaging data research and analysis. Although I’ve been pretty involved in the health and wellness sector, I’m not one to shy away from a challenge in a new field. This led me to develop a language-learning chatbot for Berlitz Corporation using JavaScript and HTML, showing that I can juggle different hats and still have fun with it.In my work, I focus on database architecture, building systems that are robust and efficient, crucial for handling complex projects. Leading a team, I mentor developers, align with our goals, and create an environment where everyone excels. In strategy, I stay tuned into the latest tech trends to guide our projects. With a solid grasp on database systems and team leadership, I’m eager to tackle new challenges in web and database development, aiming for projects that blend tech innovation with real-world impact.
